Register Now - 5 Day Retreat

We are thrilled to work with Eagle Rock Camp and to be able to offer our first retreat for surviving spouses. The retreat is a five-day overnight experience. Funding may be provided for travel assistance and trip-related costs. Please contact Admin@thesugarbearfoundation.org if you need financial assistance to attend.

This overnight retreat in the lush, serene woods of Hickory, North Carolina has been meticulously planned for military surviving spouses. It is the perfect escape to bond with your fellow widows while taking a break from the world to focus on "you" and your well-being… hiking, yoga, cooking classes, and time to simply bond with others who just "get it". Infused with this respite is a faith-based curriculum (not preachy or hardcore) that will discuss the unique trauma military widows face and take the steps to rebuild a new life.

CLICK HERE access the retreat application, our registry application and our waiver release form. Please complete both by scanning and emailing back to us along with a copy of the DD1300 or a letter/document from the VA showing you receive benefits. Let us know if you have any questions or need any help in completing.

Merry Margarita

We are so grateful for this annual holiday party and auction fundraiser. The support has not only helped sustain our programs but launch some of our new ones too. Additionally, it is an opportunity for our President and Gold Star wife, Jennifer Carazo to share Sugar Bear's story, life after loss, and our mission supporting Gold Star spouses and children. If you are interested in helping us with fundraising or having Jennifer speak at an event please contact Admin@thesugarbearfoundation.org.
